Reflexology is based on a system of zones and reflex areas on the feet and hands that correspond to all organs of the body. The healing art works on the principle that congestion or tension in any part of the foot, mirrors the congestion or tension in a corresponding part in the body.
Reflexology uses thumb, finger and hand pressure techniques to work on precise reflex points, especially on the feet, which correspond with the specific body part being treated.
